Insurance and Extended Health Benefits
Is Osteopathic Care Covered by Insurance?
Osteopathic care may be covered through extended health benefits, but coverage depends on each patient's individual plan and provider.
Not every plan includes osteopathic services, and plans that do can differ in what they cover. Based on claims our patients have submitted, these are the insurance providers we know of:
- Sun Life: patients have submitted claims.
- Manulife: patients have submitted claims.
- Canada Life: patients have submitted claims.
- Blue Cross: patients have submitted claims.
- Green Shield: not confirmed.
Providers Patients Currently Submit Through
Patients currently submit claims through providers including Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life and Blue Cross. Patients should verify with their insurance providers before paying for treatment.
Checking coverage before booking helps avoid surprises because extended health plans can differ in eligible services, annual limits and provider requirements.

How to Check Your Coverage
Your insurer or benefits portal is the best place to confirm whether your specific plan covers osteopathic services and what practitioner designation it requires.
If your insurer's portal lets you look up a provider, search for:
- Practitioner name: David Corradi
- Business name: Atlas Osteopathic Care
Common Insurance Questions
Direct Billing
Does Atlas Osteopathic Care offer direct billing? No. Payment is taken after the session, and you are e-mailed a receipt. This is to be submitted to your insurance provider.
Ongoing Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)
If you are currently involved in an ongoing motor vehicle accident (MVA) claim, please inform your OMT. You will not be allowed to be treated until the claim has ended. Proof, or a note, will need to be provided.
Missed Appointments
If you miss an appointment and are charged, your claim cannot and will not be processed through insurance. This is fraud.
